Preservation of Wilson has appointed new board trustees and officers for the 2008-09 year. Appointments were made at the Preservation of Wilson board meeting held Aug. 21. New officers are Garland Homes Jr., president; Ed Etheridge, vice president; Bowie Gray, treasurer; and Donna Wells, secretary. J. Robert Boykin and Susan Wainwright Hudson will serve as ex-officio executive committee members. New board trustees are Kenneth Jones, plant manager at Merck Pharmaceutical, and Homes with Merrill Lynch. Other members that were reappointed for three year terms are Doug Boone, Rob Keller, Sue Powell, Ben Skinner, Deloris Thomas and Donna Wells. Lu-Ann Monson, City of Wilson historic preservation specialist, will be an ex-officio member of the board. Other trustees are Lisa Anderson, Paula Benson, Sharyn Hardister, Perry Morrison, Gaynell Stallings, Eliza Stephenson, and Betty Lou Walston. Preservation of Wilson was formed to address ways to advance historic preservation and strengthen the residential market surrounding the downtown commercial area. Preservation of Wilson is working under the Historical Preservation Fund of Wilson County Inc., which is a non-profit organization.
